RUDY AMANN

Spinning Worsted, Woolen & Semi-Something Yarns

Many spinners don't know the difference between different types of spinning or how to create the yarn they want for a specific project. This meeting will cover different drafting and spinning techniques to produce woolen, semi-woolen, semi-worsted and worsted yarns.

You need to bring with you:

Your spinning wheel
niddy-noddy (small size is better)
a knitting needle, wooden pencil or dowel
$3 for fiber and handouts

The ability to do Andean Plying will make this MUCH easier--don't be scared! A pdf with Rudy's instructions is available here: Andean Plying Tutorial

Don't forget your coffee cup, and be sure to make some time to support all of our wonder Guild Vendors.

IMPORTANT NOT REGARDING JUNE'S SUNDAY TRIP

At the April Meeting I will need a commitment for the field trip to the American Textile History Museum. We will be renting a bus. The cost of the trip is $40.00 per person. This includes transportation, admittance to the museum and tour. If you have to back out after you commit you are still responsible for fees for the bus and admittance to the Museum if your spot can not be filled. The bus will pick us up at Asnutuck Community College on June 6 at 8:00am. Come join us on what promises to be an excellent trip!
